Entertaining listen but …
Reviewed: 08-14-24
This was entertaining, and the performance of every single cast member was stellar. However, I just couldn’t warm to Amanda. I found her self centered and immature, but then I guess it was only to be expected, the way everyone around her kept letting her get away with her actions.

Story
Ever had ex-housemates you can't get rid of? When Killian and the rest of the Drake vampires kicked me out of their mansion without any explanation, I felt beyond betrayed. I was livid! But I refused to waste my energy thinking about them. Thanks to all the free training I got while living with vampires, I had the skills I needed to finally free my family. I even got my house back! Best yet, I can pass on the magic techniques and fighting skills I've learned to all the wizards in our group.

Great story as both a read and a listen
Reviewed: 05-07-24
K.M. Shea is one of my all time favorite writers, and her books work wonderfully whether read or as an audiobook. The narrators are good - Ms Duke’s voice and performance were exactly how I imagined Hazel. Mr Austin’s voice was also exactly what I expected of Killian, but unfortunately his accent seemed to slide between quasi-British and almost Australian. Other than that, I absolutely loved all 3 audiobooks in this series!

Story
I’m good at hiding my feelings. Having to pretend I’m not in love with my best friend? Pfft. That’s child’s play. Here’s how I do it: I avert my eyes when he walks out of his room, shirtless in all his toned glory. I squash the butterflies that fill my stomach every time he slowly unfurls a dimpled smile. Not to brag, but Aiden Smith isn’t hard to resist if you’ve been doing it for as long as I have. In fact, we might have continued as best friends forever if not for the fact that I needed him to play the part of my fake boyfriend.

Great performance but characters didn’t do it for me
Reviewed: 12-07-23
The narrators did a great job - Luci and Teddy are favorites with me, and this was no different. But their performance was the only thing that kept me listening to the end. I simply couldn’t empathize with the characters. Maddie came across as immature, self-centered and unreasonably demanding, while I couldn’t get a grasp of Aiden’s character. Rather disappointing as the underlying trope is one of my favorites.

Story
When Britt, a modern young woman, is pulled by a magical summons back through time she finds herself smack in the middle of the schemes of the surprisingly young and handsome wizard Merlin. Britt has no interest in the throne, and she definitely doesn't want to pretend she is the legendary King Arthur, but Merlin has some bad news.

Perfect!!!

Love all of this author’s works, and this performance perfectly presents this series. Nathaniel Priestley was absolutely wonderful, using very distinct voices and accents for each character so you know exactly who is speaking at any time. Absolutely worth purchasing!

Sweet Hallmark story

Loved the storyline, particularly the resolution of the teenage angst misunderstandings. Narrations were good, though Ms Lawrence’s voice went rather nasal for the female parts. Not unbearable but annoying for longer stretches

Story
Two neighbors - strangers - with one thing in common: they share a fence. But is that the only thing they share? Nathan Fraser lives a solitary life, never letting anyone get too close. It's safer that way. Kourtney Whyte hides from the world and behind her work, too afraid to really live her life to the fullest. Rejection is what she knows best. But one night, the sound of her soft voice and the tantalizing aroma of her evening meal prove too enticing for Nathan to ignore.

This was my first listen to Melanie Moreland, and I loved it! The story was wonderful, perfect in its handling of painful topics and in the way the relationship developed so gradually. The performance by John and Tatiana was also masterful and incredibly touching. Well worth the time spent!

Story
What a disaster! I only just made my flight to New York to help my uncle, and the phone I'm holding is not mine! It seems to belong to some commitment-phobic serial dater who's never made it past four dates (according to the constant notifications he's getting from his fake dating profile).... And worse? I have a sinking feeling it's that hot suit-monkey with the arctic grey eyes I just had a run-in with at the airport. Somehow, I have to persuade him not to get a new phone until I get back. My whole life is on that phone. I knew I should have backed it up. It's only a few days. Surely, we can handle it.

Great start but got annoying towards the end
Reviewed: 10-22-23
Absolutely loved the premise of the story, and the first two thirds was wonderful. But towards the end, it started feeling like Emi’s issues were being dragged out to make the story longer. I was also left wondering how they’re going to make it as a couple with the kind of issues she obviously still has.
The narrators’ performance was excellent, especially John Lane’s, which brought all the characters to life.
