Perfect fall weekend read!
Reviewed: 09-22-24
The author weaved this fantastic story where the reader has no choice but to become enveloped in the characters and what may happen next. Excellently written and felt like the perfect fall weekend read. A little bit of love, ghosts or the paranormal, and twists that leave you wondering.

Love the LGBTQ, BIPOC, and mental health representation!
Reviewed: 02-04-21
Overall, very cute characters and refreshing representation of LGBTQ, BIPOC, and mental health. I initially listened because I just finished Sajni Patel’s beautiful The Trouble With Hating You and needed more of her writing. I was disappointed to learn that this is the only other book from Patel on Audible but pleasantly surprised to see that that it was a collection of short stories. Love me some short stories. As someone who graduated in May 2020, some of the stories hit home especially hard (I was not prepared for that lol) but it made me feel valid in my experiences and was somehow just what I needed. It was struggle, heartache, and anxiety but it was balanced well with something so hopeful and pure: love.

I’ve admired Maria’s work for many years now but this book has taken my admiration to whole ‘nother level. The way she tied her experiences to emotions you cant help but empathize with and historical pieces on the Latinx experience. Groundbreaking and unforgettable. Easily in my top 5 favorites books EVER.
