Story
When I broke my year-long vow of celibacy for a one-night stand with a beautiful, intriguing wolf girl I met in a Las Vegas bar, I thought I’d be chalking it up to just another notch on my bedpost—as much as I’d actually wished it could have been more. But when I return home to my pack and my duties as alpha, including my new volunteer gig at Blackstone Academy as its interim men’s soccer coach, I discover that my Vegas girl is not only the school’s latest hire but she’s also the newest addition to our pack—and she’s not exactly thrilled about it.

Great redemption & love story!
Reviewed: 01-02-25
While we hated Knox in Mave Fortune’s book by the end we had a tiny bit of compassion for the guy. That’s some damn good story telling-that book is still one of my faves but this one was even better.
This book makes Knox’s story come full circle. And bonus. both voice actors nailed how I imagine these characters voices would be and made the story come to life.
I also was super impressed by how she wove the mysteries around the central love story plot so seamlessly. The first time I read it I wasn’t totally expecting all that happened to occur.
I love Knox and Cady. I love their love story and that this really is a true redemption arc.

Just freaking LISTEN to them Savvy. My G-D I would just scream at my phone for her to give them a chance. It was maddening. I hate miscommunication tropes so badly. But this was over and over and over again. Ugh. F. F. S.
Voice actors were all EXCELLENT!!!
The story started to irritate me as the miscommunication trope was dragged on and on. Apparently Savvy doesn’t like using her noggin and listening to anyone. Ever.
The VO actors SAVED THIS STORY FOR ME. period.

I am so frustrated w the quality of books and audios available on Audible. I never should have wasted a credit on this book wo 1) reading the book and the goodreads reviews and 2) taking a closer look at the voice actors.
I do not recommend this book. At all.

If you love Riley Edwards then this book will not disappoint you. Both fmc and MMC have a good growth arc and I love there wasn’t a random breakup inserted for drama. I loved how they talked and worked things out.

Reviewed: 09-11-24
1) The voice acting was phenomenal. Lately so many female vo actors just sound the same to me. Not this one. Both male and female voices showed energy, emotion and excellent tone.
2) The story itself is extremely well written and for a new indie author, that is a huge accomplishment. She should be so proud!!
3) This is book one in a five book planned series and ends on a cliff. It’s a big cliff. You’ve been warned. It is not finished yet. Book 2 releases 9/3/2024
If you are looking for a new series that doesn’t sound the same or read the same or have the same plot as everything else, this is your series. While it is a dark academia themed book, the fmc is actually older. And any bullying is not done by her love interests. One potential love interest just doesn’t trust her. But isn’t cruel.
Do not read past here bc there may be potential spoilers.
I enjoy the mystery of this story. There is so so SO much still left unknown.
What are all these people’s actual powers? Nothing gets truly explained.
I want more depth about the world around them. Not a ton of world building has been wrought but lots of character development has-which I love. But I want to better understand the powers of each sup and the power families too.
Who is controlling her former friends? Is it her sister or someone else?
How is her sister her actual sister and looks more like her own supposed father BUT only came into her life when she was older? Make it make sense. Nowhere is step sister mentioned. Weird. I want answers.
What is the fmc? She isn’t a witch.
I am pretty sure her former mate is still around. Read or listen and the clues are there to figure that out.
WHO killed her mother bc I am pretty sure she didn’t die giving birth to our fmc. And I am also pretty sure her “dad” is not her dad. And where was he? He never called her or I guess even talks to her.
Seria needs to die an long and painful death. Along with her former friends. They all suck.

He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass. Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.

My fave TL book.
Reviewed: 08-18-24
Audio was SO well done. Duet is the way to go these days. Helps keep me engaged and listening. Both VO actors did a PHENOMENAL JOB!!!!!
This story is now one of my faves. Right up there with The Takeover. But be aware that this audio has zero epilogue. Nothing. Just a few chapters as a “bonus” of Mr Masters. *insert eyeroll*. I know authors do that and that’s cool but give us some epilogues HERE TOO!! Geez.
I wish this audio had the pink paperback bonus chapter epilogues. Those were the very best imho.
Ik she did that special extended epilogue in order to get into book stores. But it would have been so nice to hear the wedding and third baby being born. I feel like she missed the boat here just leaving audio readers sort of hanging. Yeah. They get a HFN ending here. But still.
So if you want a better HEA and look into their future, you have to buy the PINK paperback book.
NOT the man cover.
That one also has some bonus chapters but of Gabriel’s past and then of G&G meeting for the first time.
It isn’t as satisfying of an ending as the PINK book.
I get why she did all of this but tbh it sucks as a reader to have to buy two separate books in order to get a good ending. I’m not mad bc it’s a little thing, and it’s wrong that some folks got mean about this, but I have my feelings about it all and am not afraid to share it. Making your readers have to buy MULTIPLE versions of your book in order to make your own dreams come true, is a bit…..much.

This IPB story features Kira and Aeheko. I feel like even if it has some angst it is still a lighter story within the series. Probably one of my favorite couples and their story is so sweet. You will cheer for them the entire time you listen.
The vo actors both did a really good job.

Maybe this book is better read than heard

I struggled to finish this book. The start was interesting and kept my interest until about 3/4 of the way through. By that point it was becoming repetitive.
I was just bored with it all.
The story started cycling through the “same shiz different day” of fmc gets hurt/nearly dies/learns a lesson/has a horny moment w the MC/battles/learns a lesson rinse repeat.
If this is going to be repeated in future books, I will pass. And I will def never buy the audio version of any of these books again. I regret I used a credit to buy this. I should have read the book first.
I know growth arc’s for characters can be slow during a longer series too but at times she is so incredibly obtuse, shockingly immature and TSTL/stubborn at times that it just grates my nerves. She was not a likable fmc. While trying to make her selfless at times it just comes across as stupid. So even if she might be acting selfless in her thoughts it is actually selfish.
She’s horny for the MC. She is jealous of women he has been with. She hates the other wife of her husband. She hates this new husband. She hates her old husband. But she is also super powerful. She doesn’t know how to wield her power. (Despite having time to work w people to learn). We get it. Ugh.
I also believe this book could have benefited from dual narrative. Bc listening to one person’s voice the entire time gets to be boring for me.
Overall, I don’t rec this audio book. It wasn’t for me. I regret the purchase.

Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.
