Story
Robin Windsor has spent most of her life under an assumed name, running from her family's ignominious past. She thought she'd finally found sanctuary in her rather unremarkable used bookstore just up the street from the marina in River City, Michigan. But the store is struggling and the past is hot on her heels. When she receives an eerily familiar book in the mail on the morning of her father's scheduled execution, Robin is thrown back to the long-lost summer she met Peter Flynt, the perfect boy who ruined everything.

Story
Sadly, most of us struggle to set aside time to pray. But, fear not, this is not another book that will pile on the guilt, simply saying pray better and more often. Instead, Michael Reeves shows us not only why prayer is so essential, but also how we can enjoy it too. Taking his cue from Calvin’s definition that prayer is ‘the chief exercise of faith’, Reeves helps us understand that prayer should be a natural expression of our faith. Just as faith is awakened as we grasp the wonders of the gospel, so prayer follows as our hearts respond to these glorious truths.

Michael Reeves always helps me love Christ more. In this little book he anticipates the issues that block or complicate prayer and resolved each with his characteristic clarity.

Story
In this deeply personal account of her fist year as a missionary, Elisabeth Elliot shares the challenges she faced as she worked in the jungles of Ecuador to bring the Word of God to a people virtually untouched by the outside world. With fascinating detail, she captures the stark realities of life in the jungle, the diffculties she encountered while developing a written language for the tribe, and her confusion when God didn't "cooperate" with her efforts to accomplish what she believed was his will.

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read
Reviewed: 11-24-21
Elisabeth Elliot writes honestly and with great ability of her significant “lessons” from God during her first year as a missionary. These lessons taught her that the Christian life of devotion to Christ may look very different than what is expected. God does not explain except to tell us to leave all results to Him and to use what we learn to encourage others, who experience any kind of suffering. It’s an extremely positive account that left me greatly bolstered in my faith.
