The bloopers at the end! The other bits were pretty good too. Am I done yet Ethel?

Don’t waste a credit. The rave reviews are suspiciously similar and vacuous as is the story.

The performance was pretty good but the story wouldn’t have made it into Analog or Galaxy magazines back in the day. The story is juvenile and there is no drama or sense of excitement because the next dreadful moment was apparent two pages before it occurred.

I regret the purchase of this audio book, the story is okay but the randomly timed variation of narrators with widely varying accents for the few main characters truly sucks. Farming the novel out to many narrators no doubt got the product to market quicker, but the product sucks, I got as many Grand Tour series titles on sale as I could, saving several credits but without knowing several of the books were being read by a committee. I wouldn't have bought the asteroid series audiobooks, I would have gotten the ebooks instead because the mixed narrative wrecks it for me.

Random transition between narrators was reminiscent of a poorly choreographed pro wrestling tag team match, with random bits of music/sound effects thrown in for distraction. The story was okay, but like much of Bova, very slow and plodding. Never say in two chapters what you can stretch out into eight hours of descriptive narrative which advances neither the plot nor the characters.
