Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Oh how I loved this novel and the writing of Emily Henry as well as the narration of Julia Whalen!
This story of lifetime friendships that grow and change and evolve to the best parts of life filled my heart with such joy. My heart broke with the thoughts that the characters didn't think they were enough and soared when they realized that they were and they did deserve happiness, their own happiness.
The character development draws you in, creates investment in them. The description of the environments of each different scene helps you become even more immersed in the lives of the characters and the events in the novel.

Story
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

For one, Julia's voice is just pure silk which is what drew me to this audio book first but the story was brilliant, touching, truly entertaining! Each characters' development and interaction was so well written. I yearned for Sewanee to realize what an amazing talent she was and to see herself as others did. And I absolutely loved and literally laughed out loud as did the characters when the true identities of Sewanee & Nick were revealed. Oh gosh so fantastic! And honestly, who doesn't love a HEA?! I was sad to reach the end. Thank you Julia for such an entertaining listen. I hope you know that you are a true talent!!

Story
Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

My book club just finished reading this novel. We highly recommend it. The character development was nicely done, and the interactions between characters, sometimes contentious, added to the appeal of the novel. And a nice little twist at the end enhanced the novel as well.

Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.
