Wonderful Overall

Very educational and enjoyable. There were times I got so lost in the story telling I forgot what I was doing. My only gripe is that it doesn’t go in chronological order, which confused me in the beginning but then as I continued I got used to it. Over all very enjoyable history book, learned a lot of new things.

Extremely Valuable

This book is a valuable work by E.O. Thorpe. It contains very helpful tidbits and financial advise along with life lessons as Thorpe chronicles his life in this excellent autobiography. This is one of the few audiobooks that I listen to more than once because of the valuable life lessons and educational tid bits intersparced throughout the book. You really have to pay attention to get the most out if this book. Some of his stories disguise themselves as anecdotal but after additional thought turn out to be very helpful for the self in the future. 10/10

Very Informative

I thought this book was highly erudite. I do not agree with some that say the voice was dull, in fact I found the reader captivating and voiced quotes exceptionally. George Herring, in my opinion, provides little bias towards or against the US doctrine through the ages and gives a brilliant conclusion in the end when all things are considered.

The only lacking aspect was when discussing the topic at this grand of scale, it is hard to go into detail about things - for example: a shocking event would typically get about 5 minutes worth of text before moving onto another event. This does not leave the listener repined for further expatiation, however, as such time must be devoted to a topic in order to keep the narrative moving along.
