Barbara Caruso is excellent

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

The entire series is so wonderful, very engaging, nothing objectionable. And Barabara Caruso feels like a friend, her narration is the very best. I now judge all other narrators by her.

The Three Musketeers Audiobook By Alexandre Dumas cover art

a good recording of a fun but frivolous story

Overall
4 out of 5 stars

I enjoyed the story though I was surprised at how different it is from Count of Monte Christo(one of my favorites). The situations are often rediculous but the characters are enjoyable. The recording is well done.

A Prayer for Owen Meany Audiobook By John Irving cover art

long awaited, much enjoyed

This is one of my favorite books and I enjoyed the audio performance. My main complaint (and it's a small one) was the character of Dick at the end and his family. I found the southern accent pretty offensive. The stereotypical dumb southern portrayal was disappointing, but perhaps that was how the author envisioned them. I had not and it seemed a bit shallow to resort to that. Overall I enjoyed the narrator, not as consistant as some other audio books I've listened to, but still well done. The recording was better than some others as well. Be warned the language was a little more jarring to listen to instead of reading.

Very good reading of a great book

A Tale of Two Cities has always been a favorite book, the tragedy, the intrigue, the sweep of fate. But I didn't realize how much of the book I was skimming over when reading it until I listened to the audio. The narrator is excellent. His use of different voices is seamless and well done, adding much to the understanding of the book. The portrayed emotion also is excellent. I enjoyed this recording immensely.

A favorite book and a great narration

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

Enders Game is one of my all time favorite books. I was very pleased with the audio version and enjoyed the discussion with the author at the end. Sometimes I've discovered that the audio version of a favorite book just doesn't live up to my memory. But this recording of Ender's Game is very well done; the narration is clear and understandable, inflection of the different characters is distinct without being distracting. Highly recommend

great narration but very explicit

Overall
3 out of 5 stars

I initially really enjoyed this audio book, the narration is wonderful, the accent adding to the enjoyment. However I was not aware of the sexually explicit nature of the book. I wish all the glowing reviews I had read had given some warning of this. It may not bother some, but it was just too much for me.
