Story
In the mid-70s, Steve Martin exploded onto the comedy scene. By 1978 he was the biggest concert draw in the history of stand-up. In 1981 he quit forever. Born Standing Up is, in his own words, the story of "why I did stand-up and why I walked away".

Story
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

THIS IS A MUST GET!

I have read this book before when it first came out. But with the movie coming out, I wanted to hear it again so I bought it on audible to listen to during my commute. I am so glad I did. The narrator did an amazing job adding to an amazing book... This story is compelling in many ways and heartbreaking and others.
One of the best things about this book is Chris writes it as if you're sitting down having a beer with him listening to his stories. It was an amazing read and a great listen. I apologize for any typos in this review As I am dictating it while stuck in traffic!

Story
General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Bill O'Reilly does a great job, as he has with all the "Killing" series. very well written an performed. this is not a commentary book, but an historical look at the death of Patton. I highly recommend it!

Story
On February 23, 1836, a Mexican army thousands of soldiers strong attacked a group of roughly 200 Americans holed up in an abandoned mission just east of San Antonio, Texas. For nearly two weeks, the massive force lay siege to the makeshift fort, spraying its occupants with unremitting waves of musket and cannon fire. Then, on March 6th, at 5:30 A.M., the Mexican troops unleashed a final devastating assault: divided into four columns, they rushed into the Alamo and commenced a deadly hand-to-hand fight.

One of the Best History Books I have read!
Reviewed: 04-21-14
Where does The Blood of Heroes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Its the top History book I have read via Audible or any other means
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hard to say. Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie and Sam Houston are all right up there!
What does James Donovan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The detail Donovan brings to understanding the context of everything that was going on with not only the Texans, but the Mexicans as well was incredible. It is obvious he did a ton of research and reading from records from both sides of the battle.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The fall fall of the Alamo
Any additional comments?
This is the best accounting of the Texas Revolution I have ever read. Very Highly recommended!
