Story
Maximillian von Hansburg, baron of Laudon and heir to the duke of Aquilla, is not having a merry Christmas. He’s been dumped by a princess, he’s unemployed, and his domineering father has sent him to New York to meet a prospective bride he has no interest in. In the city, he meets Dani Martinez, a smart (and gorgeous) professor he’s determined to befriend before their best friends marry in the Eldovian wedding of the century.

Story
Kitty Harris has it all: cosily coupled up with boyfriend Archie, she’s putting in the hours at an ad agency to land her dream job. OK, so maybe they’ve become a bit too comfortable in their routine, with pizza night every Thursday, and maybe the agency isn’t so much up-and-coming as been-and-gone, but Kitty is happy. Until one diamond ring sitting pretty in her pepperoni ruins everything. Kitty does NOT want to get married, not after being caught in the crosshairs of her parent’s destructive divorce.

I hadn’t heard of this author before and now that I have she has become one of my must reads. The story was intriguing and I can’t wait for the next book. And I have already purchased her previous ones.

Story
The number one New York Times best-selling author of the Black Dagger Brotherhood delivers the first novel in an enthralling new series set amid the shifting dynamics of a Southern family defined by wealth and privilege - and compromised by secrets, deceit, and scandal...For generations, the Bradford family has worn the mantle of kings of the bourbon capital of the world. Their sustained wealth has afforded them prestige and privilege - as well as a hard-won division of class on their sprawling estate, Easterly.

Story good narration horrible

I almost quit the book because the narrator did such a ridiculous job trying to do southern accents. Being from the south I understand the thought but to put such a demeaning tone to the characters was insulting. I'm not one to write reviews and overall the story is good, I've decided to do the rest of the story by reading the book because I can't stand hearing the narrator butchering the great story more.

I would say it's disturbing but that's in a good way. Supposedly for young adults but excellent for all ages. A must listen to!
