The story was based on two young boys needing to spend time with a stranger. Immediately, my senses were filled with dread because of the thought of some babies with a stranger but it’s a story if transformation though not immediate nor strong but definitely evident. August takes Seth and Henry for the summer while their father does time in jail. The changes that the boys have along with the changes found within August are tangible that I wished nothing but the best for all of them. It wasn’t a story full of high emotion, but it was good all the same. It was great for on the road story telling.

This is a continuation of Millie and Alistar’s dance of erotic pleasure and their desire to remain impartial to the debauchary that makes their hearts sing for one another. Despite their assertions that they could remain apart, they seem to think about one another too much for their last encounter to be only casual. When they meet again at a family function, Millie’s curiosity has Alistar agreeing to teach her more ways of a different kind of love, in truth, Alistar doesn’t think any man is good enough for Millie though he won’t make her his own. There are parts that I wish were expounded upon with validity to other men’s interest in Millie, but the dance between the main two kept me occupied well enough. :). The flow of the story was good as well as the reading with a good ending. :).

This was my first work by Ms Brown and it was a fantastic listen. 8 was able to lose myself in the story and hear two different personalities both strong in their different ways. Alaster and Maddy are both what the other never knew they needed in one another. Alaster an unrepentant rake and Lady Maddy a woman, bound by the restrictions of family and society. I liked Lady Maddy’s forwardness in asking what she wanted and going after it while still trying to maintain an image expected of her.

It seems as if the headline would have been more about the brother Gunalf more so than Erich. It was to be a story of passion and strife and Elsa’s confusion of where she fits into her new tribe but her disposition of where she stood with Erich and her confusion between the brothers, made it seem like she didn’t really know what she wanted. The story was okay, the ending was satisfactory but the narrator’s voice was a bit of a distraction.

This story of Elswyth and Eirich was very much to the point and gives good backdrop into how they meet in book 2. If you desire a story without much plot, And you want an hour worth of distraction it is not bad. The storytellers voice is a little distracting when it is read from the male point of view and she tries to use a male voice; it doesn’t really work. It sounded more sinister more so than triumphant. Once I got past that distraction, it was okay to listen to.
