A Satisfying Audit of Churchils Life

This book does a good job of taking you thru the significant moments of the great mans life.
But not Churchills inner life. Perhaps that's because he lived so long and thru so much that it's impossible to cover it in depth. Next i will try a book dealing with a segment of his life.

Charlton Griffon is Shakespearean in his narration of "Plutarchs Lives." I literally look for books that he has narrated and buy the ones
in my topic area. It's powerful to listen to a man bring back to life words written two thousand years ago. I imagine i am on a porch in the ancient world having this read to me by my grandfather. Quite powerful.

Robert Garland Rocks!

I'm a big fan of Robert Garland. He's very passionate about his interests and conveys that with joy when he shares it. Greece and Rome: An Ingegrated History is unlike all the other lecture series' i've listened to from Teaching Company/Great Courses. It plumbs the depths of the well-known Greco-Roman story from a higher altitude than most, offering true glimpses of fresh perspective. And that is quite an accomplishment.
