Story
In ancient days, sorcerers sought to learn the One True Spell that would give them power over all the world and understanding of all magic.... The One True Spell was a woman, and her name was Mystra - and her kisses were wonderful. It is the time before Myth Drannor, when the Heartlands are home to barbarians, and wicked dragons rule the skies. In these ancient days, Elminster is but a shepherd boy, dreaming of adventure and heroics. When a dragon-riding magelord sweeps down upon him, though, the boy is thrust into a world of harsh realities, corrupt rulers, and evil sorcerers.

I loved the story and I am happy to finally know where Elminster came from. The only negative thing about this audiobook is the reader. Sometimes spoke in run on sentences. What I mean to say is, sometimes during the story where a pause was needed between a paragraph or a place where it would change the scene, the reader did not do that. In the end, it sometimes left the scenes being confusing and hard to follow. I am still going to listen to the rest of the books in this series. Mainly because I truly do love the way Ed Greenwood wrote a story. I just hope in future audiobooks. In this series, the reader can correct this issue.

Her (very complicated) mother has just passed away. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny’s desperate voice makes it impossible to turn her down. Meanwhile, mere blocks from where Bonnie Dahl disappeared live Professors Rodney and Emily Harris. But they are also harboring a shocking, unholy secret.

Understandably Disturbing in Many Ways
Reviewed: 09-20-23
At first, I was super excited to get this and just fall into the world with Holly Gibney, created by Stephen King. As I got through the first chapter, I was starting to get really passed off, being a conservative Republican that I am, with all the Covid references. I was saying to myself, why am I continuing this trash, and if I hear one more thing on covid, I am done with Stephen King! Well, as it turns out, I finished the book and put my differences aside. Through and through the book is actually very well written, and even though my political views don't match with King's, I actually liked it. I would have to say it was the author's note on how he explained the reason behind all the covid references, and it made sense. Did I enjoy all those notes? Heck, no, but they were necessary to help bring the character to life. I really enjoyed the story and the characters in the story, even though they were all a bunch of left-wing nut jobs. But hey, we can't have us right-wing nut jobs without the left ones, so meh ...

Story
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

This was an amazing book! Stephen King hit all the nerves in this book. The movies were close and for obvious reasons some parts were left out of the movies (ahem 7 kids in the dark ... doing things). The narrator was awesome as well. I felt he captured the feeling and depicted every scene expertly.

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Story
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

This book looked way beyond the looking glass of insanity. To even think anything like this could happen is absolutely plausible. This story is both disturbing and enthralling at the same time. An absolute excellent listen!

Listening to this book has been an absolute pleasure. It was a fitting end to a great trilogy and ended the character arc in a proper way. Yes, it was a bit of a tearjerker near the end but was still something beautiful. I would also like to add I have decided to look for more audio books narrated by Will Patton. Listening to him read the stories makes it all the worthwhile and fun.

Story
A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

First off let me say this was a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and even though it wasn't really about Hodges or Holly, It kept me interested and wanting to finish it. I really and it's truly felt the importance of the books and how they had impacted both the villain and the boy. However, I believe this book could have been omitted from the trilogy and maybe replaced with something that would give more life to the detective agency. The real story was what's happening with Mr Mercedes? As for the narrorator I thoroughly enjoyed the way Will Patton reads the story and it is because of his narration that I am going to continue this trilogy on audio books.

Story
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Will Patton did an excellent job reading this story. his voice inflection and ability to separate all the characters made this book extremely easy to follow and an absolutely exhilarating listen! he was able to separate the points of action and drama with all the characters I wish I could say more. Stephen King wrote one of his best novels with this story. I had an absolute joyous time listening to it.
