i feel like Sheryl Crow is a very honest and compassionate person
Reviewed: 03-09-21
I liked the condid honesty that she showed. She did not come off as some rich rock star who could care less about the suffering world around her. And she got to experience that suffering herself which I think has made her wiser.
It is so distressing to me how base the world is and how they turn everything into some sexual thing. I like to converse with intelligent women and exchange thoughts ideas and opinions without having an ulterier motive to some how get in her pants.
But it is the way of the world and high and mighty people are always falling for that SAME THING as Muddy Waters once put it.
Thanks Sheryl for letting us into your life and heart.

I have about a dozen audio Bibles on my iPod but never have been pleased with the narrator or the fast speed that they read. This one is perfect! Very soothing pleasant voice with perfect slower speed and inflection in the voice.

"'Boy, do I have a lot to learn!'" Anyone who's ever picked up a musical instrument of any kind - from the first caveman banging rocks to that little kid at the guitar shop - has thought that. I have been a hobby type musician most of my life I bought my first guitar when I was 18 yrs. old. Lately I have been foscusing on playing the Bass Guitar. So, being familiar with Victor Wooten I came across his book on Kindle and Audible and bought both of them.
I must say it was not at all what I expected!
Victor Wooten is a multitalented artist and the way he writes this book AND narrates his own book is nothing short of genius.
Well that is in my own humble opinion at least.
He weaves the basic princiiples of music theory in with his own life lessons and makes it interesting by introducing these mystical characters along the way.
I would ecnourage anyone to read and or listen to this book even if you are not musically inclined because ot the “Spiritual Search for Growth” subtitle part of the book. It is very informative and entertaining at the same time.
I just wish I could afford to attend his school of music in Nashville it sounds like a great place to learn music.
P.S. I am not Wendy she is my wife and I am using her Audible account to post this review.

I have never bought a book from the Abraham/Hicks series but had become acquainted with them through YouTube videos. After reading the reviews on this book and others of the series I decided to dive in with this one. Boy am I glad I did! I am only half way through and had to give a review. This book is full of confirmation of what I am moving in already and but has given me tons of tips and insight into why some things I had tried didn't work. I can tell already that this book is one I will listen to several times to really absorb the depth of what I am hearing. When you fully understand something then you not only can live it but you can teach it to others and help them. Love this and am grateful for what I am hearing!

I think a better title for this book would have been How the Muisc Biz Works with a subtitle The Life and Times of David Byrne.
I love all the trivia surrounding the performing arts especially rock and pop music. And David really delivered with this book. I have always liked the Talking Heads Band from the first hit song Take Me to the River. But David really gives one a look into his mind and his creative processes. Also I am a fan of Brian Eno and his work on various albums. David and Brian are exploreres and adventurers in the sonic and visual arts. They are not afraid to think outside the box and ask the question “why not?”. I must ad this disclaimer, this is not the subcriber to this audible account. This is her husband. She is not really into rock music at all.

It is the greatest work of English prose ever written, and it is no coincidence that the translation was made at the moment “Englishness” and the English language had come into its first passionate maturity. Boisterous, elegant, subtle, majestic, finely nuanced, sonorous, and musical, the English of Jacobean England has a more encompassing idea of its own reach and scope than any before or since. It is a form of the language that drips with potency and sensitivity. The age, with all its conflicts, explains the book.

Few books besides the Bible have been translated, printed, and read as often as The Pilgrim's Progress. John Bunyan's classic allegory of Christian, the Pilgrim, on his perilous journey to the Celestial City has touched hearts and minds for more than 300 years, and still the demand continues.

I LOVE THIS BOOK
Reviewed: 01-24-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Pilgrim's Progress to be better than the print version?
I would not say better because there is nothing like reading for yourself something about how your mind and eyes work together changes the imagery of what your are reading. But I do love Max McClean's dramatic reading skills and the fact that he is English or Scottish makes it even more realistic he accent is excellent.
Although I have read this book many times I never get tired of reading it I get something new out of it as I continue my Christian Journey it is truly a book that keeps on giving.
What other book might you compare The Pilgrim's Progress to and why?
The King James Bible because it is written in the same type of english Jacobian or old english style and both books always have a fresh new thought to consider they never get old they are both truly ageless because human nature never changes for the better it only gets worse. Technology changes we learn more things about more things we are still a depraved and wicked race of people in need of a Savior.
What about Max McLean’s performance did you like?
I like the inflection of his voice and the dramatic quality of how he characterizes each player in the books he reads. It is almost like a movie in your mind he creates the characters so well you can almost see the action as he reads. I listen to him every morning reading me the KJV Listener's Bible and I have gone through the Bible with Max 2 times now starting on my 3rd time. Every month I go through the Psalms and Proverbs with Max he is the best narrator for old english around in my humble opinion.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes when Christian was in the slough of despond. I have been there myself many times. It helps me to read Pilgrim's Progress it encourages me on my own journey.
Any additional comments?
People rave about Lord of the Rings and other allegories but for me John Bunyan was the Master of the Allegories. Because he based all his stories on his own life and Biblical truths in the Bible. Which C.S. Lewis tries to do but maybe it's because I am old school and was raised in a King James type church that I prefer John Bunyan over C.S. Lewis.

David Cochran Heath would have been a been narator. Maurice England has a gravelly voice and I couldn't get past the first chapter
