Story
Deep in the forests of northeast Georgia, something stirs. Based on real reports from hikers, hunters, and lifelong locals, Bigfoot in Georgia: Chattahoochee National Forest presents 15 immersive encounters with something massive, unknown, and intelligent that walks the woods. These stories aren’t fiction. They’re dramatized retellings of eyewitness accounts, pulled from research and firsthand sources, written in the vivid, atmospheric style readers expect from Ethan Blackwood. Each encounter places you in the boots of those who lived it—alone in the wild, with the sound of something ...

Story
In 2011, three successful and highly educated women fell head over heels for the brilliant and charming Ethan Schuman. Unbeknownst to the others, each exchanged countless messages with Ethan, staying up late into the evenings to deepen their connections with this fascinating man. His detailed excuses about broken webcams and complicated international calling plans seemed believable, as did last minute trip cancellations. After all, why would he lie? Ethan wasn't after money—he never convinced his marks to shell out thousands of dollars for some imagined crisis.

It’s ok for a little "brain candy“ to relax after months of Documentaries and Autobiographies. And, to relieve a little of the geography where I grew up and left almost 50 years ago.

Story
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Harry Potter meets Hunger Games with a heavy dose of Star Wars! I enjoyed this, tracking the various named characters was a bit of a challenge, and many(mainly) character(s) actually changed their names due to rank or societal positions (which is prone to change). Enjoyed it as it was engaging for me and my personal history both in and out of the military and residing in a different country from which I was raised. Worth my time to listen to!

Purchased on a Daily Deal. Money well spent with information concerning Ethiopia (shortly after listening to Kevin Hart and The Summer of 1985)segued in nicely. Ending was a bit surprising but the historical information was enlightening. All in all, happy that I downloaded it and listened.

Story
Just days after the 9-11 attacks, a senior Pentagon analyst eased her red Toyota Echo into traffic and headed to work. She never saw the undercover cars tracking her every turn. As she settled into her cubicle on the 6th floor of the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, FBI Agents and twitchy DIA officers were hiding in nearby offices. For this was the day that Ana Montes--the US Intelligence Community superstar who had just won a prestigious fellowship at the CIA--was to be arrested and publicly exposed as a secret agent for Cuba.

Story
The devastation of Pearl Harbor and the American victory at Midway were prelude to a greater challenge: rolling back the vast Japanese Pacific empire island by island. This masterful history encompasses the heart of the Pacific War - the period between mid-1942 and mid-1944 - when parallel Allied counteroffensives north and south of the equator washed over Japan's far-flung island empire like a "conquering tide", concluding with Japan's irreversible strategic defeat in the Marianas.

Story
On the first Sunday in December 1941, an armada of Japanese warplanes appeared suddenly over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and devastated the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Six months later, in a sea fight north of the tiny atoll of Midway, four Japanese aircraft carriers were sent into the abyss. Pacific Crucible tells the epic tale of these first searing months of the Pacific war, when the U.S. Navy shook off the worst defeat in American military history and seized the strategic initiative.

A bit revealing regarding the political upheaval taking place in Japan prior to Pearl Harbor. I was not aware of that, but the hard practice of the Japanese forces (and the Third Reich in Germany) I knew of. Looking forward to the next two books concerning the topic!
