Story
Greed, terrorism, and simple bad luck conspire to bring mankind to its knees as a viral infection spreads out of control, reducing those infected to undead horrors that feed upon the rest. It's a time of misery and death for most, however there are some who are lucky, some who are fast, and some who are just too damned tough to go down without a fight. This is their story.

Any additional comments?
I tried to slog through the 2nd book in this series since other reviewers noted the series improves compared to the stilted, poorly written 1st book. Not the case. If you want C level writing at best, an entire story line based on a stuffed animal talking to an improbably competent little girl and more of Cassie’s ridiculous quest to rid the world of “the whites” complete with up-to-date “black speak” like “ya dig?”, well then this book is for you - enjoy. Easily the worst books I’ve actually paid for on Audible – there is much, much better zombie apocalypse material to spend your money on out here.

Story
Picking up where The First Days ends, Fighting to Survive features the further zombie-killing, civilization-saving adventures of a pair of sexy, kick butt heroines and the men who love them. A hundred or so survivors of the zombie plague have found tenuous safety in the walled off center of a small Texas town. Now the hard work of survival begins - finding enough food; creating safe, weather-resistant shelter; establishing laws; and fighting off both the undead who want to eat them and the living bandits who want to rob and kill them.

2nd tier material - bailing on this series after 2
Reviewed: 08-31-13
Would you try another book from Rhiannon Frater and/or Cassandra Campbell?
No, I think this is the last
Have you listened to any of Cassandra Campbell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First book in the series was slightly better than the 2nd.
Any additional comments?
Not horrible for a novice effort but definitely 2nd tier material at best – some pretty weak writing at times with cardboard 2 dimensional characters (Shane is such a bad, BAD man! *shakes fist* Just you wait, he’ll get his comeuppance!), overwrought sexuality play that gets way too much attention, some pretty weak action sequences and awkward unrealistic dialog throughout – on the whole I really had a hard time caring about any of the characters at all. Stuck with the series for two to give it a chance but I think it stops here – there’s much, much better zombie genera material out there.

Story
Nestled among Seattle's skyscrapers, The Zephyr Holdings Building is a bleak rectangle topped by an orange-and-black logo that gives no hint of Zephyr's business. Lack of clarity, it turns out, is Zephyr's defining characteristic. The floors are numbered in reverse. No one has ever seen the CEO or glimpsed his office on the first (i.e., top) floor. Yet every day people clip on their ID tags, file into the building, sit at their desks, and hope that they're not about to be outsourced.

If you're looking for piercing new insight into the corproate world, this isn't it. But if you work as a cog in the machine of a large company as I do, or enjoy Dilbert or "the Office" on TV, then this will make you laugh and is well worth the price. I found the reader to be excellent and thought he picked up nicely on the spirit of the book.
Now when I talk with my fellow cogs about "senior management", it takes on a whole new meaning...
