Story
Portico Reeves’s superpower is making sure all the other superheroes—like his parents and two best friends—stay super. And safe. Super safe. And he does this all in secret. No one in his civilian life knows he’s actually…Stuntboy! But his regular Portico identity is pretty cool, too. He lives in the biggest house on the block, maybe in the whole city, which basically makes it a castle. His mom calls where they live an apartment building. But a building with fifty doors just in the hallways is definitely a castle.

Absolutely captured the feelings and anxiety kids feel when parents are separating/divorce. The need for friends and families around them to support them through it. Very Entertaining! Kids will love it!

Story
The Women's World Cup coming to Southern California, everyone is soccer-crazy -- especially Mia Tang! The U.S. is playing China in the finals, and Mia feels like her two identities are finally coming together. Less exciting, though? The fact that her P.E. teacher wants Mia to get out of the soccer field, too -- or fall short of the grade she needs to earn a spot at journalism camp. But as always, Mia Tang is ready with a plan: she'll track down the two women's teams, interview them, and write an A-grade article for P.E. instead!

Kelly Yang wrote about her Mother’s experience with Pancreatic Cancer in a wonderful YA novel about a young girl and her fashion designer mother. The other voice in the story is a young male Asian student at school who’s parents are typical immigrants who want a better life for their son.

Will is the only round kid in a school full of thin ones. So he hides…in baggy jeans and oversized hoodies, in the back row during class, and anywhere but the cafeteria during lunch. But shame isn’t the only feeling that dominates Will’s life. He’s also got a crush on a girl named Jules who he knows he doesn’t have a chance with, because of his size—but he can’t help wondering what if? Will’s best shot at attracting Jules’s attention is by slaying the Will Monster inside him by changing his eating habits and getting more exercise.

Could not stop reading it until I was finished! Very important story we have needed for decades. So many young teenage boys struggle with their body image especially after being bullied my son included. Often it just takes that burst in height to change everything. But Will/Jarrett was lucky to have A Friend, Parents, and a counselor to help him see himself As A Work In Progress!

For seventh-grader Mila, it starts with some boys giving her an unwanted hug on the school blacktop. And how can she say no? But Callum's hug lasts a few seconds too long, and feels...weird. According to her friend, Zara, Mila is being immature and overreacting. I paced my reading not wanting to leave the characters and their story. Only listened to two maybe three chapters a night. I savored all of the images and smells. Anticipating what would happen next. I almost want to start the story again but this time listen in one big bite of time. Like a movie on the screen of my mind!
