David Warner is so great. the story is quite good though the shift from first to third doesn't make a lot of sense.

you can still hear at one point" end of side. three" and there are a few times where there are long pauses between their narration where there is another break or two in the tapes. The narration is fantastic, the story is terrific, it's just the actual presentation from audible that leaves a lot to be desired.

Hampered by Bad Sound Quality

Great, compelling story. Most of the chapters sound like they were read at a live event but change sound quality between chapters as if there was a different microphone / room set-up. The last chapter sounds like it was read alone. The gaffes and laughs are left in as is the highly annoying sniffing that our author does during the last chapter. It could have all used a good trim.

Fortunately, the story is highly entertaining so it's an overall recommend though a more professional job would have been appreciated.

This story is pretty hot despite some purple prose and the narrator butchering Filet Mignon as "Phil it Ming non".

If you're interested in Hitchcock's weight...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

... then this is the book for you. The author seems obsessed with Hitchcock's obesity and is all about "fat shaming" the late director. Unfortunately, much of the book seems to rely on pop psychology rather than facts.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The production of the book was interesting. There were often long pauses between sentences when I wouldn't think they should be. Finally, at the end of the book there was a mistake -- a "end of cassette 17" announcement that made me realize that I was hearing the gaps between cassette sides that had never been cleaned up.

Great, compelling book.

Producers should have aided the Narrator with pronouncing a few words (like NYC's Houston street).

Did Audible send me the wrong book? This is a short story, not a 33 1/3 book about Meat is Murder. Hoping to get a refund.
