This entire series was terrific, with brilliant characters, an entertaining plot, creative details, yummy steam, etc, etc. I read the books when they came out, and was excited to get to listen to the audio version as well. Good vs Evil, gray vs black & white, friendship, duty, sacrifice, sorrow, loss, trust, betrayal, redemption, family issues, fatherly love, new beginnings, courage, determination, hope, and love were some of the underlying themes in this wonderful saga.

Although Lola was a bit annoying at times, that did not detract from this fantastic tale of unrequited love, revenge, magic, politics, regret, shame, forgiveness, justice, family, friendship, hope and love. Thorin has been my favorite of the brothers, and this story cemented his place in my BBheart.

I listened to this at 2x.

This was a well written and entertaining vampire origin story with a fresh twist. It was full of creative details and told from the perspective of someone who doesn’t want to embrace his inner monster. I’ve loved all of Rachel Ford’s books so far, and this one didn’t disappoint.

I really enjoyed listening to Wired due to the interesting plot, great characters, and terrific narration. Normally I’m not such a fan of contemporary romance, but something about this book (ok, the hottie on the cover) caught my attention, and I’m glad it did because it made a very boring train trip fly by. Some of the major themes were acceptance, regret, sorrow, loss, friendship, dedication, hard work, hope, and love.

I was given a free copy of Wired, but that did not affect my review.

I loved this story and would have given it 5 stars had Mariah not been so unnecessarily abrasive half the time. The rest of the characters were great, and the plot as well, and I especially appreciated that there were so many strong women featured. Trust, betrayal, courage, friendship, family, and inner strength were some of the underlying themes. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

I was given a free copy of Raven’s Thrall, but that did not affect my review.

My listening speed was 1.95x

I really wanted to like this story but finally gave up at chapter 21. So many things are wrong, like Kragyn being surprised that the family he helps with food actually has children and would want to take their kids when they escape. This kind of thing happened again and again, argh.

However, some people can enjoy insta-love stories despite plot holes, plausibility issues, etc., and they will surely enjoy this one since the steamy scenes were well written.

I was given a copy of Kragyn, but that did not affect my review.

I listened to this at 1.5x
