Story
It was the final test. A chance to win not only the love of Allah, but the love of her father - something she had never been able to earn. Esther took a deep breath and raised her hand in the air. At the age of 18, she had just volunteered to become a suicide bomber. Defying Jihad is the true story of a girl growing up under radical Islamic rule, trained to believe her ultimate purpose was to serve Allah by dying as a jihadist. But two nights before she was to leave forever, she had a dream...one that would change the course of her destiny.

A heresy of young girl
Reviewed: 10-13-20
Full of untruths of the Prophet Mohammed pbuh life and misinterpretation of the Quran. She is a girl who in act of defiance choose to follow a dream and convert her religion. The Quran is the only text which was the word of God. The gospels of Mathew, John...etc are definitely not. So you can believe you are born of Sin but I will believe I was born in God's best form. The Quran says "you follow your faith, I will follow mine, there is no coersion to belief"

Historical facts

I would like to say that for a westerner to write such a well researched historical retelling of the events that followed the Prophets Death, but I must say that from a Shia person perspective I would not out Ali Shareati as a prominent figure in the rise of the Iranian revolution and not on par with imam khomeni who led a Islamic revolution before it being political. He restored what was lost of the Islamic faith during the Shah era which led the overwhelming support of the Iranians. Ali sheraati wasnt even alive when the revolution happened so although he had some critical views of the political establisent he didn't have any movement of sort or a path to guide people. So he was not a prominent figure like you make he seem and wasn't in any way part of the revolution. In Tehran maybe some people were against establishing an all Islamic government but they were far and few from to make them a movement.
