Story
In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

What did you love best about Wool?
The silo. I can imagine being in it with the stair case and holding onto the never ending banister
What does Amanda Sayle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Poor narration. Please use a male voice. Amanda has some very quirky sounds that I didn't care for. I would have stopped listening but found the story to be awesome. I will listen to one more. Hope it has a better narrator.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I never have time to listen in one sitting.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I will not watch it.I love imagination and a film would take that away.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
Gill's mother
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I had time that would have been great.
Any additional comments?
This is the first Harlan Corbin book I have listened to. I was about to return the book after listening to the first 4 chapters, then my husband, who is a big fan of Corbin said I should try at least one more chapter.I'm so glad I did. The book was great.the story line picked up and I could not wait to finish it.
All the characters were well done, I especially liked the phone calls! Mr Corbin has a wonderful style and plays on our human emotions. Scott brick, who I had a hard time getting use to became very easy to listen too. I think I was just so used too another narrator that I wasnt ready to clear my mind.
If you haven't given Harlan Corbin a listen I highly recommend his books and Scott brick is an AWESOME narrator.

Story
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

June 24,2013 listen before you watch
Reviewed: 05-31-13
Any additional comments?
I liked this book more then I thought I would. The reason I decided to buy it was because the television mini series is coming on June 24, 2013 and I wanted to see if it was something I would like to watch. YES it will be awesome. BARBIE is my favorite character. He has a great sense of humor and honor. The townspeople learn that in tight times you need to take responsibility not only for yourself but for others. You help those in need, you share and use integrity. Then there are those that live an underhanded life, they care only about their own gains. They bring their immoral dreams to life by taking advantage of others, they do things that those with a conscious would never do.
In this book peoples true colors come out. Survivors are not always the strongest. I am looking forward to the TV series and hope it is as good as the book. I can imagine how we could possibly live in a world similar to Under the Dome.
