Story
Legends tell of the evil god Torak coveting the power of the Orb of Aldur. Prophecy also speaks of a time when he will again awaken to seek dominance over all the world. Now the Orb has been stolen by a priest of Torak, and that time is at hand. Belgarath the Sorcerer and his daughter, Polgara the arch-Sorceress, are on the trail of the Orb, seeking to regain it before the final disaster. With them goes Garion, a simple farm boy only months before, but now the focus of the struggle.

A tad better

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Still the worst narrator I've ever heard in my life. For some reason Tolnedrans are French?
What didn’t you like about Cameron Beierle’s performance?
Nothing
Was Queen of Sorcery worth the listening time?
Barely

Story
Long ago, so the Storyteller claimed, the evil god Torak sought dominion and drove men and Gods to war. But Belgrath the Sorcerer led men to reclaim the Orb that protected the West. So long as it lay at Riva, the prophecy went, men would be safe. That was only a story, and Garion did not believe in magic dooms, even though the man without a shadow had haunted him for years.

Horrible

How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator's total lack of depth between the characters and total mis-understanding of the how the gods should have sounded was unforgivable. It was so bad, I had to turn it off half way through and just picked up the book itself.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The story as always is amazing.
Any additional comments?
This pile of dung is making my cancel my audible account itself. I really want nothing to do with anyone who peddles this type of "work".

Slow start to a great story
Reviewed: 05-31-12
What did you like best about Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance? What did you like least?
The story starts out realllly slow with too much setup in my opinion.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Loved it. They closed the loop masterfully- I just wish the loop was smaller.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The Narrator did great, especially with the Mandalorian.
Was Star Wars: The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance worth the listening time?
Yes, it was very hard for the entire first part. I kept putting it down and up eventually to get to the 2nd file and fell in love with the story.
Any additional comments?
Its worth buying it, just be aware of the slow start.

Excellent Story and Narrator

What made the experience of listening to Star Wars the most enjoyable?
The whole Jedi Academy Trilogy is wonderful and highly recommend it for anyone searching for some old story lines while we wait for the end of Fate of the Jedi series!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars?
There has been several mentions in later books as to what happens at Kessell- and it was interesting to go back and relive it.
What does Anthony Heald bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narration does an excellent job of bringing the fear that Han has as he stumbles through the darkness in the spice mines
