Crying masterpiece

I've shed more tears reading this book than I ever expected, though it's a testament to its emotional depth. I'm utterly captivated by the story and deeply invested in its characters. This book has consumed my thoughts day and night, and I can't help but wonder, how will I ever move on once it's over? 😩 I strongly recommend this series to anyone who likes a dark romance and psychological thrillers. I also want to commend the narrators too because they did an amazing job on this book!

Story
The Emerald Lake Asylum is not a place most desire to go. Nineteen-year-old Skylenna, however, made a promise that she must keep. Once hired, she has only one purpose—prove to the council that barbaric treatments, such as waterboarding, scalding baths, and beatings, are no longer the answer. But that all takes pause when she meets the source of terror in the asylum. A patient with a split personality—on one side, he’s the bloodthirsty genius Dessin. On the other, a hidden persona that is buried deep in his subconscious.

Story
Centuries before A Game of Thrones, an even greater game began, one that set the skies alight with dragon flame and saw the Seven Kingdoms turned to ash.
So began the Targaryens’ bloody rule, with fire and blood. Setting brother against brother, mother against daughter, and dragon against dragon.
Chronicled by a learned maester of the Citadel, this thrilling and bloody history of Westeros tells the story of where the battle for the Iron Throne began…

Do you like fiction? Then this might not be for you

I love game of thrones and when house of dragons came ou - I was dedicated to read this book. Unfortunately, the way it was written is not my style. it’s written like a history book. I never liked school, so this was a hard read for me. This is fiction but written like a non-fiction. I might try to finish it just because I am a game of thrones fan but so far very very disappointed. However, this does not mean its not a good book. It is. Great story line and written well. Its just not MY type of style, therefore gets a personal two star. Mostly because the story itself is excellent.
