Reminds me of my Grandmother

I really enjoyed that this book was narrated by a child The Voice, and the grandmother’s voice was excellent. It really reminded me of my grandmother and the strong relationship between grandmothers and their grandchildren, and how they can persuade their grandchildren to become great.

I just had to finish it as fast as possible… it was too goood to put down. The story is very involved. You have to pay attention. I thought it was a great story line a terrific ending. It kept you on the edge of your seat, wanting to figure out what was going to happen next you learn to love and hate the characters involved. I would greatly recommend this book.

Story
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Well spoiler alert. This book will have you intrigued, sad, upset, and astonished. I just wanted to learn more and more and at the same time be able to hug the author. She deserves so much after such an awful upbringing. I was left in limbo…. Granted she did not suffer as other incidents but in her life, for her, it was awful, and you can truly feel that in the story. I wish the author forever happiness.
