The narrator was excellent. I enjoyed the storyline, twists and turn, and was surprised of the ending. I wish there was two more chapters to tell me how the last situation was handled (no spoiler).

Story
With a sensibility that recalls her beloved screen characters, including Yvette, Queenie, Shug, and the iconic Cookie from Empire, yet is all Taraji, the screen actress writes of her families - the one she was born into and the one she created. She shares stories of her father, a Vietnam vet who was bowed but never broken by life's challenges, and of her mother, who survived violence both in the home and on DC's volatile streets. Here, too, she opens up about her experiences as a single mother.

Down 2 Earth
Reviewed: 08-21-17
Just as I imagined, Taraji is a down-to-Earth woman who shares her humble beginnings, struggles, determination to pursue her dreams, and drive to keep working as an actor. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Taraji's voice as the narrator; smart move on her part because nobody can tell her story like she can. I had outbursts of laughs, moments of reflection, and many inspirations. I didn't want her memoir to end. I felt like she was a friend who was talking to me daily on my drive to/from work.

The performance was well by the female and male narrators. The story kept me engaged. It's an erotic, fantasy, fairytale with a happy ending.
