Story
With some of the strongest relationships in Shellseeker Beach facing daunting challenges, the family must come together like never before. Budding romances are tested by unexpected arrivals, and major decisions threaten to bring upheaval instead of peace on the beach. Like the tides that bring a bounty of shells every morning and night, change is the only constant…and love is the foundation that holds this found family firmly on the sands of the place they call home.

Family

It's refreshing to read a book/books that is chock full of romance, mystery/happiness/sadness, without entire chapters focusing on sex. I'm not a prude, but I don't need the graphics! This series of books is one of my favorites, taking in not just the romantic love, but live and heartbreak and happiness of family. I recently moved from an Island about two hours north of Sanibel and to the mainland. The little island we moved to nearly forty years ago, Anna Maria, bought a small restaurant was much like Sanibel. Now it is no longer the bohemian little island we so adored, but a resort tourist trap. This book brought me back in time and touched my heart.

Story
Here are the three things the Sullivan family knows to be true: the Chicago Cubs will always be the underdogs; historical progress is inevitable; and their grandfather, Bud, founder of JP Sullivan’s, will always make the best burgers in Oak Park. But when, over the course of three strange months, the Cubs win the World Series, Trump is elected president, and Bud drops dead, suddenly everyone in the family finds themselves doubting all they hold dear.

ENTERTAINING READ

This book caught the eye of one of my customers. I own a small breakfast and lunch restaurant on a resort island. This is either a true story. or the author certainly has done her homework! my customer generally comes in late, and hears us talking while we do our "sidework" marrying the ketchup is no one's favorite!
It's about time someone wrote a true to life novel based around a restaurant! Great read, funny, and yes, right on a day in the life if a restaurant worker!

Story
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Story
With her husband, Sam, off on a trip to Europe, Miss Julia takes a pause to reflect on the past few decades - realizing how the comforts and joys of her life can sometimes give way to boredom. Miss Julia reckons it's about time to roll up her sleeves and be of some use to her community. She's just considering how to get involved when she hears that the nosy do-gooder Madge Taylor and the new pastor Rucker are embarking on a mission to buy up the vacant house down the street from Miss Julia and establish a group home for wayward teenagers.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

MUST READ THIS BOOK!

"Where the Crawdads Sing" is not just a book, not just a story. It is one of those books that stay with you for life. It touches on all of life, love, nature, spiritualism and everything in between. It will make you laugh out loud, and cry real tears of sadness. I will be listening to this one over and over for years to come. Do not miss this book, it will take control of your heart and soul and lift you to the sky. Then, perhaps the next chapter shows us all the depths of the sins of all of us, of all living things. If you read nothing else in life, please, read this masterpiece!

While renovating an old beach house, Ivy and her sister, Shelly, suddenly have full occupancy after fire forces Summer Beach residents from their homes. Even the mayor, Bennett Dylan, who was Ivy’s high school crush, moves in. As the summer heats up, attractions simmer and feuds erupt. Living in the house Bennett had hoped could be a community center, he finds himself at odds with Ivy’s campaign for a bed-and-breakfast zoning change. And when valuable items disappear from the inn, Bennett’s friend Mitch, who owns the popular Java Beach coffee shop, is the prime suspect.

The only fault I thought I had found with thus book is that it ended! I am delighted to see that I have stumbled into a series!
Perfect combination of history, modern day and back drops of love stories. Far from a romance novel, this book brings reader back to the horrors of an earlier time, when people were forced to run for their lives, protecting their secrets with their lives...
