Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Surprisingly Good

I downloaded spare to listen to and was completely surprised at how good it was . Well crafted and written( kudos to the skilled ghost writer) and exceptionally well read by Prince Harry , his story is compelling . As a Brit and monarchist , I wanted to rail and protest the book , but found his conviction and the truth from his perspective understandable . His hatred of the press has really caused me to pause and take stock of the stories I read peruse. We should all reassess our use of media and buying in to the stories we read . He will face ongoing criticism for his decisions and while I might not agree with the path he has taken , he should at least be heard and understood. I still stand for the monarchy , but wish him well .

Story
Welcome to Cobble Hill. In this eclectic Brooklyn neighborhood, private storms brew amongst four married couples and their children. There’s ex-groupie Mandy, so underwhelmed by motherhood and her current physical state that she fakes a debilitating disease to get the attention of her skateboarding, ex-boyband member husband Stuart. There’s the unconventional new school nurse, Peaches, on whom Stuart has an unrequited crush, and her disappointing husband Greg, who wears noise-cancelling headphones - everywhere.

This listen was not as engaging as I had anticipated . While the characters are well developed, they are a tad too self absorbed to be truly likable . The exception is Peaches the school nurse . The plot moves forward but seems to miss something. Please, when a book is narrated and there are characters with different accents , the chosen narrator should be able to pull them off ! In this case English accents for Roy , Wendy and Shy would have been a significant improvement.
