I really enjoyed a majority of the stories involved here. I wish I could have this collection in print. can not recommend enough. even if you don't like the first story, keep listening. I'm glad I did.

Story
Ursula K. Le Guin was one of the most revered and influential writers of the 20th century. Her Earthsea books have sold millions of copies and been translated into numerous languages, while her trailblazing novel The Left Hand of Darkness was a landmark in feminist science fiction and ranks among the greatest SF novels of all time. This BBC collection brings together the magical radio retellings of both these seminal classics.

it was good, and enjoyable. but I didn't buy it knowing that it was a dramatization of the stories. a lot of details were left out. still good, but not what I was wanting.

Story
A groundbreaking work of science fiction, The Left Hand of Darkness tells the story of a lone human emissary to Winter, an alien world whose inhabitants can change their gender. His goal is to facilitate Winter's inclusion in a growing intergalactic civilization. But to do so he must bridge the gulf between his own views and those of the completely dissimilar culture that he encounters. Embracing the aspects of psychology, society, and human emotion on an alien world, The Left Hand of Darkness stands as a landmark achievement.

a tale of otherworldly friends
Reviewed: 12-01-21
The beginning of the book was a struggle. so many names and places thrown about that I felt dizzy. however, the journey that brought us to the end was drought with dangers and the friendship the developed was true. I'm saddened that the book has ended but happy with the experience of it.
