Story
Susie did something that she knows she will always regret: giving her baby son up for adoption, to keep her infidelity secret from her family. Louise, Susie's daughter, feels the effects of that decision echoing down through the years - her mother has always been difficult, too strict with her but not strict enough with her sister, Grace, who is wild and out of control. And Danny, Susie's husband, adores her but has always sensed something wrong at the heart of their marriage.

I wasn't sure I was going to like where this story was heading during the first part of the book, but it took a turn toward the end that I am very glad I held on for. Beautiful story. Worth the read!

Actually gets me to sleep!

I bought this out of desperation, ready to try anything and was really skeptical when I started listening and a few hours later woke up to use the bathroom and heard weird electronic like whale sounds? However, when I am having restless or anxious nights and can't get my mind to slow down, it really does help. Go figure!

Story
Annie Marlow has been through the worst. Rocked by tragedy, she heads to the one place that makes her happy: Oceanside in the Pacific Northwest, the destination of many family vacations when Annie was a teenager. Once there, Annie begins to restore her broken spirit, thanks, in part, to the folks she meets: a local painter, Keaton, whose large frame is equal to his big heart - and who helps Annie fix up her rental cottage by the sea; Mellie, the reclusive, prickly landlord Annie is determined to befriend; and Britt, a teenager with a terrible secret.

Nice imagery
Reviewed: 11-01-18
The author does a nice job using words to create imagery to where I could see the characters and the places come alive. The love stories were slow, but sweet. Made me want to keep reading. Nice book to escape to.

Story
Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story—it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again . . .

I really wanted to like it!

This was the first time I had ever tried a Nicholas Sparks book. I had never even seen the Notebook! I really wanted to like it and I don't know if it was the narrators voice, the music or the story itself but it just annoyed me. I couldn't make it through the first half.
Just not my author I guess.
