Another excellent book, well researched and written. The narrator was smooth, but engaging. Highly recommended.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to find yourself strapped to a giant rocket that's about to go from zero to 17,500 miles per hour? Or to look back on Earth from outer space and see the surprisingly precise line between day and night? Or to stand in front of the Hubble Space Telescope, wondering if the emergency repair you're about to make will inadvertently ruin humankind's chance to unlock the universe's secrets? Mike Massimino has been there, and in Spaceman he puts you inside the suit.

Story
You know her voice. Now hear her story.
Audible has teamed up with Rolling Stone to produce an uncompromisingly honest Audible Original that honors the life and legacy of the incomparable Aretha Franklin. Aretha’s universal appeal was evident from the release of her first album at age 14 through her nearly 50 Top 40 hits. Yet this intimate biography reminds us that Aretha knew pain as much as she knew glory. It was the blues, residing deep within her soul, that gave way to a voice able to lift millions with a profound sense of freedom, self-worth, and undeniable talent to rise above sorrow.

Story
One of the 20th century's most challenging novels of ideas, The Fountainhead champions the cause of individualism through the story of a gifted young architect who defies the tyranny of conventional public opinion. The struggle for personal integrity in a world that values conformity above creativity is powerfully illustrated through three characters: Howard Roarke, a genius; Gail Wynand, a newspaper mogul and self-made millionaire; and Dominique Francon, a devastating beauty.

Long, but interesting
Reviewed: 12-08-18
I read this book every 20 or so years and every time, I find something different that makes me think. This is the first time I have listened to it, and again, I heard things I seem to have missed before. Some of the characters are vapid, superficial things, while others I find more interesting .
The reader was excellent, but the editing was not. You can tell where he stopped and restarted. There are pauses and gaps in odd places, and chapter announcements seem to randomly pop up, never giving you, the listener, a chance to reflect on the last one.
In general, it’s one of my favorite novels, so I put up with it.

Story
"Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned"...So say the publishers about this audiobook I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it. It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii, and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.

Story
Born Joel David Katz to a wild and wooly Jewish American family in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1932, Joel Grey began his life in the theater at the age of nine, starting in children's theater and then moving to the main stage. He was hooked, and his seven-decades-long career charts the evolution of American entertainment - from Vaudeville performances with his father, Mickey Katz, to the seedy, gangster-filled nightclubs of the '40s.

It's OK, but not what I had hoped
Reviewed: 05-25-18
I was not expecting a book in which someone I admired spent the entire time whining about how his mommy didn't love him , having to hide that he was gay yet discussing details of his encounters, only to decide at the end that he sucks at being a gay man and he'd wasted time trying to please his mom. I wanted to hear about his career, his creativity with the roles he played. That seemed to take a back seat to mommy and men. Add to that his somewhat slurred reading and I was thrilled when the book ended. I'm glad this was the free in a 2-for-1 because it would have been a waste of money.
