I normally listen to audiobooks on 1.5 speed; but this one is narrated so well, that i listened to it on normal speed so i could savor every moment.
Its so well written and even corrects some of the common misconceptions of certain events that books past either got wrong or didnt care to look in to. A fantastic piece and one ill be buying in print.

The true story (on which the film Jeremiah Johnson was partially based) of John Johnson, who in 1847 found his wife and her unborn child had been killed by Crow braves. Out of this tragedy came one of the most gripping feuds - one man against a whole tribe - in American history.

Narrator is the worst part.

The actual content is great. Well written; acknowledges the tough parts of the liver eaters story (the fact that its almost all oral history with no traceable record and the like) and is structured well.
But MAN is this narrator bad. Like SUPER slow. I normally listen to audiobooks at around 1.3 speed so its closer to normal conversational flow but THIS GUY; I had Audible cranked to 1.7; SEVEN! Just to get it to sound more like a normal person and not someone on painkillers.
Like seriously the book should only be like an afternoon listen but if you listen on normal speed youll be here all week. Im not sire if that was a directors choice or what, but whoever made it should take a step back next time cause hooooly sheet was it so slow.

this is a religious work.

oopsie on my part, thought this was a history title, but its actually about his religious life; and while that isn't a bad thing, its not what I was looking for.
