Story
Our society constantly promises us that money will provide what we want, leading our fickle hearts to trust money for things it was never intended to give us. Even if we think we know what the Bible says about money, there seems to be a gap between our theology and our everyday money struggles. In this practical and hopeful book, Paul David Tripp tells us how to view and interact with money in a God-honoring way. Through chapters that expose the depths of our heart struggles and our need for grace, this book offers a roadmap to find peace, generosity, and joy in the world that God created.

Misleading, yet Insightfully Enjoyable!

IMPORTANT: This is NOT the entire book with annotations!! It is ONLY the annotations, which was misleading. I thought that it would be the entire story with Timothy Zahn’s commentary embedded as you go through the book.
With that said… it was highly insightful and definitely enjoyable! I LOVED hearing his commentary on Thrawn and how he views the character! Gives a LOT of context to the newer trilogies.

The embattled Republic reels from the attacks of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has marshaled the remnants of the Imperial forces and driven the Rebels back with an abominable technology recovered from the Emperor's secret fortress: clone soldiers. As Thrawn mounts his final siege, Han Solo and Chewbacca struggle to form a coalition of smugglers for a last-ditch attack, while Princess Leia holds the Alliance together and prepares for the birth of her Jedi twins.

Timothy Zahn is a literary genius! LOVED this trilogy of books and this was the perfect end to an incredible story. Disney needs to take note of this and adapt these books as much as they possibly can! Two thumbs way up!!

Story
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

I’ve always been a huge fan of both Tolkien’s Middle-Earth books and Peter Jackson’s films; however, I’ve never listened to the audiobooks. I downloaded the Hobbit as soon as I saw Andy Serkis narrated it and I can’t be more pleased!! Andy Serkis is an exceptional actor in his own right and truly brings something special to his performance in reading this story. I only hope that he goes on to narrate the Lord of the Rings trilogy!!! If he does, I’ll certainly be one of the first to pre-order!!!

Witness the epic final chapter of the Skywalker saga with the official novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, including expanded scenes and additional content not seen in theaters! The Resistance has been reborn. But although Rey and her fellow heroes are back in the fight, the war against the First Order, now led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, is far from over. Just as the spark of rebellion is rekindling, a mysterious signal broadcasts throughout the galaxy, with a chilling message: Emperor Palpatine, long thought defeated and destroyed, is back from the dead.

Better than the movie!!
Reviewed: 07-09-20
I had actually been a little hesitant to get the book because I wasn’t a super fan of the film. The movie was good, still in my top 5 for the series, but I just strongly felt that the story was much weaker than I had hoped it would be. But the novelization actually eliminated my concerns by the end of the 2nd chapter!! 2 chapters in and the book had already given more exposition and backstory than the whole movie combined! Much needed filler information at that! Overall, I loved it! Definitely recommend!

Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate . . . and a threat that may be too great to overcome.

Rogue One is my 3rd favorite Star Wars film after Revenge of the Sith and Empire Strikes Back, and this novelization does it justice!! It adds depth to certain scenes and conveys character thoughts that just simply can’t be conveyed on screen effectively. If you liked the movie, you WON’T be disappointed by this adaptation!!
