Story
Lucinda Williams’s rise to fame was anything but easy. Raised in a working-class family in the Deep South, she moved from town to town each time her father—a poet, a textbook salesman, a professor, a lover of parties—got a new job, totaling twelve different places by the time she was eighteen. Her mother suffered from severe mental illness and was in and out of hospitals. And when Williams was about a year old, she had to have an emergency tracheotomy—an inauspicious start for a singing career. But she was also born a fighter, and she would develop a voice that has captivated millions.

So glad she didn’t follow the advice to not tell her life’s story. It explains all the songs in such detail!

Story
When my partner Catherine and I were in our 50s, we found out in short order that I needed a heart valve replacement, and she had early-onset Alzheimer's. We both have a history as endurance athletes, so our reaction to this news was to sell our home, retire from our jobs, and become nomads, running marathons and half-marathons all over the world.

This is such a sweet, beautiful story about an amazing relationship, dealing with Alzheimer’s, a travel bucket list, and so much more! I don’t read/listen to many books twice but this one is that list! ❤️

Story
To be on the frontline of entrepreneurship, you must be bold and take risks. But the need to achieve can be as addictive as drugs, with serious side effects. It can make you feel isolated, uncertain, and trapped on an emotional roller-coaster ride full of euphoric highs and devastating lows. But there’s a way to get back onto solid ground. An accomplished entrepreneur and recovering gambling and drug addict, Michael Dash realized his gaming obsession and his drive to succeed were two sides of the same coin.

Amazing insight into not just addiction but addictive personalities

Thanks Michael! What a great story and way to explain how it’s not just an addiction to drugs that impacts our life. We can be addicted to many other things including something often thought of as “healthy” which is work.
