I didn’t really know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised

I’m not really a 50 Cent fan, although I was aware of his fame and have heard some of his hits on the radio when I was younger.
I am a fan of Robert Green of red almost all of his books. Now, I think I just have one more left…
This was a unexpectedly pleasant collaboration for me going into this not really knowing much about 50 Cent life other than that he is a famous famous rapper
I think my favorite part is that Robert Green finally found someone contemporary to uses an example in one of his books. Most of his examples are from hundreds of years ago and sometimes it’s difficult to connect or to see how those lessons can apply to the modern day.
I’m definitely gonna go read 50 Cent’s other book now. Sounds like a true rags to riches story and a guy who wasn’t given too many opportunities and made the most of it who doesn’t like an underdog story.
All in all, it was a good read, entertaining, and educational. I would recommend it.

Great book. Really a fun listen for anyone that’s from the Bangor area and curious about its history. Well written. Enjoyable read. The chapters are uploaded backwards. That’s my only complaint.

I thought this is gonna be more of a book about psychology. It turned out to be more on the subject of mysticism talks a lot about self hypnosis a lot about affirmations. Healing the body through prayer. That might be for some people, I just wasn’t looking for a book about New Age spiritualism. I was really more interested in the scientific side of the subconscious which he claims to be talking about throughout the book, but then backs it up with pseudo religious experiences, and very little science.

Jung's early business of flying marijuana into the United States from the mountains of Mexico took a dramatic turn when he met Carlos Lehder, a young Colombian car thief with connections to the then newly-born cocaine operation in his native land. Together they created a new model for selling cocaine.

Story
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

Good but too much conspiracy theory
Reviewed: 07-28-23
It’s a good book very enjoyable read. There was a lot of maybes, and what seem to be conspiracy theory with very little backing it up other than that a lot of the people in Laurel Canyon had military parents.

Richard Stratton was the unlikeliest of kingpins. A clean-cut Wellesley boy who entered outlaw culture on a trip to Mexico, he saw his search for a joint morph into a thrill-filled dope run smuggling two kilos across the border in his car door. He became a member of the Hippie Mafia, traveling the world to keep America high, living the underground life while embracing the hippie credo, rejecting hard drugs in favor of marijuana and hashish.

Wonderful story very exciting literally on the edge of my seat. Most of the book. The last couple hours is where it feels like. He’s rambling a little bit and I don’t think he spent enough time talking about his arrest in the aftermath it was really only the last 10 minutes of the book.

A great adventure tale peppered with investment advice

10/10 book. Jim tells a great story of his adventures around the globe. I especially liked hearing about cities that I visited since the book has been written in finding out how they’ve changed from first-hand experience. He also gives matter-of-fact investment advice, and you get a real look in the how he thinks about the investing world. Good or bad seems honest and that’s something I appreciate in a book.
