Story
Something revolutionary has begun. Starting with Gestalt and Cognitive theories, psychology began to take a new course and develop more effective ways of helping people think straight and deal with the challenges of life. However, something even more revolutionary has begun. Dr. Martin Seligman, a cognitive psychologist, has developed a psychology of wellness based on the virtues. His premise is that good mental health is founded on virtuous thinking and living.

Insights into Catholic and other religious faiths
Reviewed: 01-10-25
Father Groeschel is an excellent presenter; he is a brilliant and devout man of God, who unravels aspects of virtue in an enlightening and humorous manner; in the process, he pulls back the curtain on the tragic decline of Catholic and other religious institutions, especially regarding Catholic higher education and religious orders, which have caused harm and confusion for many; he shows where things went astray and also the path to restoration and redemption; a very inspiring and motivating call to living virtuously for Catholics and all religious believers

Story
In My Religion, Leo Tolstoy accuses the church of hiding the true meaning of Jesus, which is to be found in the Sermon on the Mount and the call to resist evil. For Tolstoy, it is this command that has been most damaged by ecclesiastical interpretation. Tolstoy had not always been possessed of the religious ideas set forth in My Religion. For 35 years of his life, he was, in the proper acceptation of the word, a nihilist - not a revolutionary socialist but a man who believed in nothing.

Very Profound and Enlightening
Reviewed: 09-04-24
The narration (Bob Souter) was very good. Leo Tolstoy tells a very compelling story of several profound steps to the development of his faith. He focused on the words of Christ from the bible, which he researched in numerous documents including Greek and Latin sources . He was obviously a very dedicated and scholarly writer. He revealed very basic concepts of Jesus teaching, which taken together yielded an understanding different than anything I had heard or read. He brought new meaning to many parables in a very precise and thorough manner. I had never heard Leo Tolstoy mentioned as a biblical scholar or commentator. This work was unexpected and thoroughly enlightening.
