Story
Crimebusting duo DI Jackman and DS Evans are back, solving another crime that will make your skin crawl. Twenty years ago: a farmer and his wife are cut to pieces by a ruthless serial killer. Now: a woman is viciously stabbed to death in the upmarket kitchen of her beautiful house on the edge of the marshes. Then a man called Daniel Kinder walks into Saltern police station and confesses to the murder. But DI Rowan Jackman and DS Marie Evans of the Fenland Constabulary soon discover that there is a lot more to Daniel than meets the eye.

This book received entry after entry of 5-star reviews. It was on sale so I purchased it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how it could have warranted such unanimous praise. Perhaps it is just me, but this book wasn’t just mediocre - it was truly terrible imo. Like reading the final essay of fiction writing 101 students. I could not get past chapter 15. Try as I might and I almost always force myself to finish books and almost never leave reviews, but with this one I would at least listen to a sample first.

It was amazing!! My daughter was so sad when we realized that the 2book hadn’t come out yet. Great story plot and it was great to have different spy story line. I would definitely recommend this book.
