Story
This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time.

Story
For myself and Lauren, my 10-year-old daughter No 3 Beech Close was to be our refuge after two years of hell nursing my sick mother. In need of a fresh start and wanting to distance ourselves from the bad memories of my mother’s house we moved to Beech Close, a small cul-de-sac of six houses situated around a picture-perfect green. It seemed perfect but I had underestimated the secrets that this tightknit community shared. Within hours of moving in my next-door neighbour Valerie made it abundantly clear we were not welcome.

I have listened to every book by this author. Really good stories, keeps you in suspense and are not gruesome or too sexual but just right! i see a few common themes and wonder if the author has an ambivalent relationship with her mom. I look forward to new books and have my copy on reserve for her next.. The Honeymoon. Thank you Gemma! (narrator is great also!)

It was a pretty boring story with no real twists or turns. It seemed like it was leading up to an exciting twist, but neither story, the grandmother's or granddaughter's, was exciting or extraordinary. I would not waste a credit on it.

Nothing original here. It is my fault-I didn't think the genre was listed as a romance, but it definitely is one. The characters are shallow and their behavior unrealistic and the story line is silly. The progression of the romance is predicable and as with these type of books, sex is used as filler in place of an actual good story. When the female started doing herself in the shower fantasizing about the man, that was it... oh and he just happened to come over to her house and walks in her bathroom at that exact time. Cut me a break. I could do better than this for sure. I stopped when there was about 2 hours left. Five hours of my life that I will never get back!

Story
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

The media (British press) has greatly exaggerated the "shocking" and "damaging" stories within. Here in America, people at least my age in general knew King Charles was a jerk by the way he treated his wife. it was obvious back then by interviews and the whole Camilla thing that they were despicable acting people. No great revelations in the book to change that either way. The brothers fighting, well that happens to all families and the two Duchesses potentially having an issue., Understandable with two different cultures , etc. I didn't hear anything in here that would cause any relationship to be irrevocably broken. Media causing problems as they have throughout these people's lives. That is the real crime here. Who holds them accountable? My oldest daughter has the middle name "Diana" as I was a fan. Glad her son is getting away from it!
