Story
Compelling and dramatic, this Western has intelligent zombies, corrupt lawmen, sociopaths, evil, and outlaws, taking you on a gripping listen with black oil, seduction, power, and dark horror. The West has never been this wild, deadly, or sexy.

couldn't finish

I don't normally leave reviews. I've listened to a lot of books over the years. but sorry to say this narrator just could not keep me listening. his voice just does not match the storyline at all. I finally just gave up. The story itself seemed okay, I may actually read the book to finish the story.

Story
Nora Kelly, a young curator at the Santa Fe Institute of Archaeology, is approached by historian Clive Benton with a once-in-a-lifetime proposal: to lead a team in search of the so-called "Lost Camp" of the tragic Donner Party. Benton tells Kelly he has stumbled upon an amazing find: the long-sought diary of one of the victims, which has an enigmatic description of the Lost Camp. Nora agrees to lead an expedition to locate and excavate it-to reveal its long-buried secrets. Once in the mountains, they learn that discovering the camp is only the first step in a mounting journey of fear.

So So

I expected more from these authors. Story was okay, but after a whole book of the two women trying to get the gold, etc. It happens in the epilog by Pendergast. So much for the strong lead characters. Just shows they didn't solve the case basically.
Narration was brutal, i have returned the next one that i pre bought thinking i was going to continue this series. I agree with others, here Pendergast is just commical. :)
Again, story wasn't bad. Would have been better as a read instead of a listen though. AND let your lead characters close out the case theirselves without having Pendergast do it for them. :)
