Despite how much is written about strategy, and money spent on it, reports of chronic failures persist. Two causes dominate. Strategy is still not fully defined, and strategy practice is still largely based on a planned view of the world. Change and innovation, however, are not wholly planned but emerge from the myriad interactions of the players involved—some by design, many not. This science of complex adaptive systems must be the bedrock on which strategy is built.

The book itself is great, but the audio version is awful.
1. It is apparently narrated by AI, and the male voice is very monotonous.
2. The book contains many pictures, frameworks and diagrams, and every time when there is a picture in a page, the monotonous female voice announces: 1) the number of the picture, 2) the picture title, and 3) the same phrase that you can download a PDF or see the picture on the web-site.
It drives me crazy to hear it every 10-20 seconds.
I've ordered the paperback copy and will read it.
