Story
The Ancient Woods of Saldia hold secrets. The gnarled oaks are home to murderers, slavers, and the legendary blightwolves that ravage the countryside by the light of the twin moons. In a world of rabid wolves the size of horses, not-so-extinct dragons, and magical reagents that grow over every inch of the land, tonight is unique. Tonight, a merciless king dies alone in the forest. Tonight, an usurper rises from within the ranks of the king's trusted noblemen. Tonight, ancient enchantments are unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

Story
After being gravely injured in battle, Richard awakes to discover Kahlan missing. To his disbelief, no one remembers the woman he is frantically trying to find. Worse, no one believes that she really exists, or that he was ever married. Alone as never before, he must find the woman he loves more than life itself....if she is even still alive. If she was ever even real.

Very frustrating
Reviewed: 03-02-21
I have read or listened to the whole series thus far. this was exceptionally hard to listen to as the storyline was extremely negative for 90% of the book. the authors intent was to make you feel the same level of frustration as the main character, which he did brilliantly, but the result was a far from enjoyable experience. I found myself turning the book off frequently as I was angry with the progress. I read or listen to relax and enjoy. this was far from relaxing. I will listen to the rest because i am apparently a glutton for punishment.
With that said, I love the books. the fact they can elicit such an emotional response speaks to the talent of the writer and his storytelling. these are not for the casual reader that just wants a fluffly good story with no real drama or controversy.

Story
Geralt of Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin. And a cold-blooded killer. His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil, and not everything fair is good...and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.

Story
The second novel in the wildly popular First Law Trilogy from New York Times best seller Joe Abercrombie. Superior Glokta has a problem. How do you defend a city surrounded by enemies and riddled with traitors, when your allies can by no means be trusted, and your predecessor vanished without a trace? It's enough to make a torturer want to run - if he could even walk without a stick. Northmen have spilled over the border of Angland and are spreading fire and death across the frozen country. Crown Prince Ladisla is poised to drive them back and win undying glory.
