It’s a ridiculous history lesson- not a story.

This is just boring- it’s a history lesson. I made it an hour while working around the garage- this is just garbage.

Story
Begun in 1959 by a twenty-two-year-old Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary is a brilliantly tangled love story of jealousy, treachery, and violent alcoholic lust in the Caribbean boomtown that was San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the late 1950s.

Kind of just a rambling drunk story- not bad but not interesting

It was ok- not great and not horrible. And having a “15 word minimum” for a review is absolutely ridiculous

Story
For 31 years, a monster terrorized the residents of Wichita, Kansas. A bloodthirsty serial killer, self-named "BTK" - for "bind them, torture them, kill them" - he slaughtered men, women, and children alike, eluding the police for decades while bragging of his grisly exploits to the media. The nation was shocked when the fiend who was finally apprehended turned out to be Dennis Rader - a friendly neighbor...a devoted husband...a helpful Boy Scout dad...the respected president of his church. Written by four award-winning crime reporters who covered the story for more than 20 years, Bind, Torture, Kill is the most intimate and complete account of the BTK nightmare

It took over 30 years and the cops did basically nothing.

It’s embarrassing how little the cops actually did in solving this case. Their “clever” ideas are laughable. The only reason BTK was caught is he’s a feeble old man who doesn’t understand how computers work. And once he was caught, he just owned it and confessed. Basically zero police work.

Too much political nonsense
Reviewed: 10-19-23
I read / listen to books to get away from all the political bias and hate, the last thing I need is to be inundated with the author’s absurd political views. The frustrating part is he waited long enough in the book to start with the nonsense that I can’t return it for a refund!

Story
In the 18th and early 19th centuries, a Native American empire rose to dominate the fiercely contested lands of the American Southwest, the southern Great Plains, and northern Mexico. This powerful empire, built by the Comanche Indians, eclipsed its various European rivals in military prowess, political prestige, economic power, commercial reach, and cultural influence. Yet, until now, the Comanche empire has gone unrecognized in American history. This compelling and original book uncovers the lost story of the Comanches.

Author tries way too hard to over complicate the story
Reviewed: 05-02-22
The language used by the author is is purposely over complicated and takes away from the story and tons of modern political buzzwords are sprinkled all over the place. It feels like a mix between a high school history paper, where the kid is using too many big words in an attempt to sound smart, and a blend of MSNBC and FOX news program.
