The title says it all. This was one of the worst books I’ve ever read, and I’m angry I spent 3 days reading it.

Story
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Loved this book. It was sweet and romantic. Taking 1 star off of the performance because, as someone who is from Montana, I am really tired of people acting like we have, like, cowboy accents. Or southern accents. Or whatever weird affectation Wynn was given.

Great Story - TERRIBLE Narration
Reviewed: 04-19-23
This was an enjoyable book - it’s a pretty typical spicy fantasy story with action and romance and dark, sarcastic, brooding love interests. However, if you can, I recommend just reading it. I started out with the eBook on KU before this was available, and when I finally got the audiobook, I was shocked by the choice in narrator. Her tone was never situationally appropriate, and it constantly took me out of the story. I would hesitate to get the sequel if it’s narrated by the same person.

almost wonderful

This book was ALMOST perfect - the story is unique and tugs at the heartstrings. However, it feels like the author tried to do just a little bit too much with the story. There is just one or two too many tragedies, and it takes away from the realism.

I really wanted to like this. The delivery is stilted and difficult to follow, and the author seems to be VERY full of his own success.
