excellent

the narrator captured Gina's voice perfectly as she grows in her insights and examinations of her youthful thoughts and observations. The characters are real and enjoyable, the accents and personalities are nicely varied, and the epilogue was the cream on top of this sundae.

Story
High adventure and dark mystery combine in a sparkling historical romance, by Jodi Taylor writing as Isabella Barclay from The Chronicles of St. Mary's. Bascombe, widowed and tied to an impoverished estate, has learned to ask little of life. With no hope of leaving, the years have passed her by. Lord Ryde, exiled abroad after a scandal, has returned to strip his estate and make a new start in America.

loved it, unexpectedly.

the dialogue was so funny, sharply written and well performed. I'm not a huge romance fan but will tolerate it in a good story and this was fun and well done.

Story
When retired actor Buffy decides to up sticks from London and move to rural Wales, he has no idea what he is letting himself in for. In possession of a run-down B&B that leans more towards the shabby than the chic and is miles from nowhere, he realises he needs to fill the beds - and fast. Enter a motley collection of guests: Harold, whose wife has run off with a younger woman; Amy, who’s been unexpectedly dumped by her (not-so) weedy boyfriend; and Andy, the hypochondriac postman whose girlfriend is much too much for him to handle.
