Hard to listen to. Good information, but I think the audio would be better delivered by a seasoned audiobook narrator who can give it some personality.

I’d Rather Individual eBooks

This was hard to listen to. While it may have seemed like a good idea to include all of this info in one book, the repetitiveness and monotony of the text would be better absorbed as individual eBooks. I kept an open mind and trudged through. The MySpace reference in Chapter 9 did it. I was out. While MySpace is still active as a music and culture platform, it definitely is not relevant in the manner discussed.

Story
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Riley, Thank you for completing this memoir! I have visited Graceland twice, and wish I could make it an annual tradition, especially at Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed the format of this audiobook. Julia and Riley did an amazing job!

I knew nothing of his story until listening to this. The fact that he had dreams of being a Military fighter pilot and gives so much of his time to supporting our Military, says a lot about who he is and what he stands for.

Story
Citizen is Clinton’s front-row, first-person chronicle of his post-presidential years and the most significant events of the twenty-first century, including 9/11 and the runup to the Iraq War, the Haiti earthquake, the Great Recession, COVID-19, the January 6th insurrection, and the enduring culture wars of our times. Yet Citizen is more than a presidential memoir. This book captures Clinton in a rare and unforgettable light: not only as celebrated former president and foundation leader, but also as a father, grandfather, and husband.

Thoroughly enjoyed the content, especially learning about everything that the CGI has done and still does. I just wish the book had been narrated by Bill Clinton himself.
