Story
"Believing that something is wrong with us is a deep and tenacious suffering," says Tara Brach at the start of this illuminating book. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork - all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's 20 years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.

If you could sum up Radical Acceptance in three words, what would they be?
Beautiful, relevant, useful
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author covers many interactions with her clients, and so it's difficult to pick a singular person, however her journey was very accessible to me, and her anecdotes and thoughts throughout were very tangible.
Which scene was your favorite?
Her interactions with the client who was unable to feel at ease with his mother, and who was repeatedly called to his mother's potential last days was a hugely relevant and painful story which touched me, especially in the way that he was able to eventually find a way to acceptance and love of her.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Evoking self-acceptance through simple, emotional recognition of your own need for love.

A great interpretation of a legendary story

For something as complex and historied as the Mahabarata, it is fantastic to hear a clear and educational version of the Bhagavad Gita. The assistance in understanding terminology is very helpful throughout. The personal anecdotes add a significant value to the overall experience as well.
