As an unattached woman with gambling debts and an uncertain future, Lily is destroyed by the society who created her. Written in the style of a novel of manners, the writing itself is an illustration of American literary naturalism.

This was an interesting read. It was picked for a book club. While this is not my style, I think the audible helped greatly for this.
