Another great Harper Security story!

I'm not going to give spoilers, but I want to say I really enjoyed this reading. The voice actors really brought the characters out of the 2 dimensional book in to 3d real life! The storyline is pure A.K. Evans: second chance romance, and the heroine gets herself in trouble by trusting the wrong person. And our hero must rescue her. But I felt like the hero should have made her work a bit harder to get his trust back as part of the second chance romance, but I did enjoy the story. It's always a comfort to visit a storyline where the characters are as familiar as your own family, and see where the author takes story and how the plot lines interact. I love audiobooks because I travel around for work, and always have an audiobook playing. I did get an ARC of this Audiobook, but I purchased the ebook version.

Story
Past indiscretion with life-altering effects. Macy Spencer hit rock bottom and clawed her way out of the hole her cheating, lying, gambling ex-husband left her in. Drowning in debt and penniless, the single mother of two worked hard to get her life back on track and protect her children from the fallout. But now her ex is in more debt, and his bookie’s knocking on her door for payment. The last thing she needs is the handsome, rough, sexy-as-all-get-out Alec Hall overhearing the threats.

Alec's Dream is a dream listen!

This was always my favorite of this series! Alec's dealings with his newborn daughter are heartwarming and hysterical. Add in Macy and her kids and you get funny, romantic, suspenseful ride with a super strong heroine! As always Riley Edwards books are suspenseful, lusty, heroic, sexy, funny, amazing, romantic, and all the feels! Highly recommend listening to this one.

Story
A middle-aged, overweight, and acrophobic newspaper editor Tom Ryan and a little dog, Atticus M. Finch, are an unlikely pair of mountaineers, but after a close friend dies of cancer, the two pay tribute to her by attempting to climb all forty-eight of New Hampshire's four-thousand-foot peaks twice in one winter. Tom and Atticus set out on an adventure of a lifetime that takes them across hundreds of miles and deep into an enchanting but dangerous winter wonderland. Little did they know that their most difficult test would lie ahead, after they returned home. Following Atticus is ultimately a story of transformation....

Atticus' story comes to life!

I have followed Tom Ryan's blog for quite a while. I have both of his books, in hardback and audible. I highly recommend his fans listen to the audiobook! Hearing Tom's voice narrate his adventures brings the story to life in a whole new way. Hearing the rough Massachusetts accent as he describes his beloved dogs adds a different dimension of feeling to a beloved tale. His fear on the first winter hike that ended in darkness comes alive and you feel that fear in your soul. You will burst out laughing at his description of Atti wearing his winter bodysuit for the first time. One of my favorite passages! Even if people do look at me funny for laughing at apparently nothing since they can't hear what I'm listening to on my headphones. :0) Give a listen, you won't be disappointed!
