Horrible Narration!! Ruined the whole book!
Reviewed: 10-17-24
It is so important to have the right narrator! This book proves how a good story is completely messed up by the wrong narrator. The narrator is whinny and is reading so fast I literally had to slow down the narration to make it listenable!
Also, Kai’s character didn’t sound like a biker with a low deep voice… when he was supposed to be talking the narrator attempted a lower voice but it feel flat… but what was really bad… was when Kai’s inner voice was narrating it was the exact same voice as Grant’s! It was so confusing!!
This is my third time buying and returning this book! I want to know the story of the King’s MC because other characters from other Brightly/Gregory books interact with them… but just no!
Please Audible … get another narrator for this series!!! It’s completely ruined until u do!! Seriously!!!

Good … but…

This was an interesting listen. The first story was off the charts hot however, I’m not liking what happened to the first main female character. I actually stop listening because I was so upset. Then after continuing, there’s just no closure with the second female. I think I’m still upset about the first female that I really can’t get into the third female. The second and third female are just replacements for the first female. I am so frustrated. I liked it I mean I like the writing, and the smexy time… but what was the point of the second female if there’s going to be a third! And why is it called Rachel all the way through?
I don’t know if this is a good review or bad review … it’s a frustrated review. I actually liked it. I’m just still irritated about the first female.

Amelia: Lego sets, Star Trek and junk food in my pajamas, these used to be how I would spend my safe and lazy days off. Now, what am I doing with my time? High-speed chases, running from Hellhounds, fighting witches, opening boxes that threaten the entire Vampire race, and stabbing bitches with my shoes. But hey, at least I get to wear a pretty dress on my date. Now all I can hope for is that it isn’t one where people end up shooting at us again. That would be nice. And all this was because I fell in love with a Vampire King. A Vampire King, who claimed me.

Why change narrators?
Reviewed: 05-29-22
This is s classic ruin of a great audiobook series! Why change narrators at book 4!! You get use to the first narrator’s mannerisms snd voices for each character.., to only try to figure out who’s who now! Urgh!! Lucius is ruined now! So is Amelia!! Its like s completely new couple…. Just ruined this series for me… Go back to the first narrator!!! Please!!! Story was a good continuation of Amelia and Luc’s story, but I did not enjoy it like books 1-3…

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

This was ok... not a friends to lover's story... more of a boss and employee to friends who are now in love story...

I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn't do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him, because it also lived inside of me.

Melancholic but good story
Reviewed: 10-12-17
Man... that was a melancholic listen... so much death and heartbreak... but it was a great listen after all.
Tristan was a man completely shredded in two when his wife and son died in a car accident... and so was the female lead (can't remember her name now)... her husband died in the same car accident, only they don't know it...
The story is a bit of flashback here and there to give you backstory, and then jumps to Tristan and the female lead building a relationship on the grief of their loss... and finding that life does go on after a tragedy like that...
It was good.. but sad at the same time...
Its a good credit or sale book..
Narration was ok... I hate dual narration... Just pick one and have them read it... Only when narration is done simultaneously is dual narration a good idea...

Great Series!!!
Reviewed: 10-12-17
In my excitement to write my reviews, I put my review for book 2 under book 3... so this will be a review of the entire series...
It is great... Fantastic series of m/m vampire romance. The fact that Alex is the Key to save mankind was a nice little spin on vampire's fated mates... Book one, Alex learns he cannot be turned into a vampire because he already has vampire blood in him... book 2 Alex learns what it really means to be the Key, and book 3, let's just say, some pretty nasty beasts come from another realm to lay a hurting on Alex and Cronin... but it all works out in the end...
Excellent storyline, action, adventure... and history!! This series was great in how it mixed history into the storyline, but made it believable as to why this or that happen and how vampires where behind it all... Like how the ancient Egyptian pharaohs were actually vampires!! So good..
Narration was excellent throughout the entire series!!
Great buy, credit or sale book!! Just get it!!

Twelve months after his change, Alec MacAidan is still getting used to his many vampire talents. While most vampires would give anything to have more than one supernatural power, Alec craves nothing more than peace and time alone with Cronin. But when Alec meets entities from outside this realm, he's left powerless in their presence. Zoan are half-lycan, half-dragon creatures that have slipped through time and reality, seemingly undetected by man and vampire. Or have they?

NYPD Detective Alec MacAidan has always been good with weird. After all, his life has been a string of the unexplainable. But when an injured man gives him cryptic clues, then turns to dust in front of him, Alec's view on weird is changed forever. Cronin, a vampire Elder, has spent the last 1,000 years waiting for Alec. He'd been told his fated one would be a man wielding a shield, but he didn't expect him to be human, and he certainly didn't expect that shield to be a police badge.

Wow! It has been an extremely long time since I listen to a book all the way thru without stopping one time! This is an action packed m/m vampire romance, and it was great!
This was my first N.R. Walker book, and I am so glad I finally listen to it. It has been sitting in my library for about 6 mths, and I kept passing it over for some other listen...but finally, I listen and I enjoyed this book so much, I went ahead and purchased books 2 and 3!
Narration was awesome, as only Joel Leslie could be... He is great with accents!
Great buy, credit or sale!! Well worth the wait, but I shouldn't waited!!! I totally enjoyed it!

This was a great follow-up to Carter Reed... but not as amazing as book 1!
Don't get me wrong... Carter was still bad to the bone Carter, doing his criminal things.. but this time around... we didn't see much of the bad things he did... he was away most of the story, preparing to go legit... WHY!!!???
It was good...well worth a buy, sale or credit... but it was not AMAZING like book 1....
I hate dual narration... hate... so this lost a star in performance for that...although both narrators where great... it just wasn't done simultaneously like dual narration is supposed to be done like.... Story lost a star too, but because it wasn't super great like book 1, just great...
Fans of Tijan will enjoy this... especially if they have listen to book 1...which everyone should ....

Emotional but funny and smexy!!

What a fun book! I have had this book in my library for months...just sitting, getting passed by for what I thought were more "interesting" reads. ... MISTAKE!!!
Now, right off the bat...I absolutely hate dual narration unless it is done simultaneously with guy reading guy parts and girl reading girl parts....however, I love Mason Llyod narration...so I gave this a shot...I loved it! Although the narration wasn't how I like it...it was still good...both narrators did superb!
This story, although is about a MC ....it really isn't.... It is more about the men who have been through some heavy s*it and are barely hanging on to life... They are brothers, some form of police\cops with a bit of vigilante throw in....
Griffin and Queeny ( Lorane) story was funny at first...I mean buying sex toys for batteries is just hilarious, but sweet, romantic, and smexy at other times... I really enjoyed the back story surrounding these two characters...so much action going on, but not at the same time...
This is a great buy, sale or credit book. I will be getting the rest of the series... Simply because I want to know the other guys back stories too...
