Story
One of Billboard's 100 Greatest Music Books of All Time: The provocative transgender advocate and lead singer of the punk rock band Against Me! provides a searing account of her search for identity and her true self. It began in a bedroom in Naples, Florida, when a misbehaving punk teenager named Tom Gabel, armed with nothing but an acoustic guitar and a headful of anarchist politics, landed on a riff. Gabel formed Against Me! and rocketed the band from its scrappy beginnings-banging on a drum kit made of pickle buckets-to a major-label powerhouse.

This book made me tear up and elate with joy as I listened to every hell-sent trial and tribulation and how Laura overcomes them. I've learned a lot about the complexities of transitioning and the enormous burden it places on Laura.
I wish with all my heart that she keeps pumping out incredible music and lyrics that I enjoy so f'n much... This was a hell of a ride! Can't wait for the next book!

Story
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I started with Rising Strong (which I LOVED) then I went to this one... Although this is not a book... It's a seminar... But it is super cool and impactful... She's super funny and poignant. Made me laugh, cry and inspired the hell out of me... Very recommended!!!

Story
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Coincidentally someone close to me told me I had a big ego... Not knowing what that was or how to define it, this book came in and really cemented my definition and was and will continue to be a very valuable resource in being a better me. Thanks for writing this, Ryan

Story
Creativity, Inc. is a manual for anyone who strives for originality and the first-ever all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about creativity - but it is also, as Pixar cofounder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible”.

You've read this story a million times. It existed before it was written and it will be retold afterwards until the end of time. HOWEVER, this specific one resonates and Socrates will forever live in my heart.
