Story
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Story
There’s a lie masquerading as truth that’s running rampant in our culture. It goes something like this: you are powerful enough to control your circumstances and create the life you want through positive thinking, solid planning, and dreaming big enough. But if you’ve ever tried to control your life or to strive your way to self-fulfillment, you’ve discovered what lies on the other side of this supposedly empowering message. Tara Sun explores why the quest for control is overrated—not to mention downright dangerous—and reveals the surprising, lifegiving alternative: radical surrender to God.

Very Narcissistic

I didn’t like how the book was written, the author uses basic vocabulary and struggles to get the point across. The book is mainly the author patting herself on the back for following God’s will. Honestly I really hoped it would help me understand her story better or let me see into the life of someone following Jesus, but it didn’t. It’s written from the point of view of someone who is making a profit off of following God.

I loved the story line and the characters; everything honestly. It is beautifully written and draws you in. The ending is also the kind of happy ending you always wish for!
